For people on dialysis with anemia due to CKD

What Is EPOGEN®?

EPOGEN® is a prescription medicine that acts like the hormone erythropoietin. It helps the body create more red blood cells, which raises the hemoglobin (Hb) level.

  • Hemoglobin [HEE-moh-glow-bin] is the part of the red blood cell that holds the oxygen.

It’s important for your doctor to monitor your Hb levels regularly to ensure they don’t go up too high or too quickly.

EPOGEN® has been prescribed for 28 years to 1.5 million Medicare patients on dialysis*

*Represents Medicare patients receiving EPOGEN® from 1989–2012 based on Amgen data on file and US Renal Data System (USRDS).
